Governments across Africa are eager to harness the enormous potential of professional community health workers. But few countries have the financing they need to do so alone. There is a $4.4 billion annual funding gap for community health, and existing resources are stuck in inefficient, duplicative systems. External funders often work in siloes, forcing countries to navigate fragmented financing opportunities.
